Dr. Abdirahman Ali Awale, President of the Habeeb Mental Health and Rehabilitation, received the Somali Hero Award during an official ceremony held in Minnesota, United States, attended by senior government officials and representatives of the Somali community.
The ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Speaker of the Federal Parliament, Ms. Sadia Yasin Haji Samatar, and the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Daud Aweis Jama.
Ms. Samatar praised Dr. Awale’s humanitarian and medical efforts in the treatment and rehabilitation of mental health patients, highlighting his role in raising awareness and supporting affected individuals and families.
Dr. Awale expressed appreciation for the honor, describing it as recognition of the collective work of professionals in the mental health sector, and reaffirmed his commitment to continued service and cooperation with relevant institutions.
The Somali Hero Award is an annual honor recognizing outstanding Somali contributions to humanitarian and social development.
