Nairobi, (SONNA) – The Director General of the Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), Ahmed Moallin Hassan, attended the meeting of the Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA) in Nairobi. The meeting focused on collaborative efforts to enhance civil aviation in the East African Community and the work plan for the year.
During the meeting, the process for Somalia’s membership in the East African Community Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency was finalized, with Director General Ahmed Moallin Hassan taking the membership oath on behalf of Somalia.
The meeting also addressed the harmonization of civil aviation regulations among CASSOA member states and discussed how members can collaborate to implement the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
This participation underscores Somalia’s commitment to advancing civil aviation safety and security in the region.
