Several ambassadors to the Federal Republic of Somalia have arrived in Las Anod to attend the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected leadership of the Northeastern State of Somalia, highlighting strong regional and international support for Somalia’s political process.
The diplomatic delegation includes the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Somalia, H.E. Alper Aktaş; the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mawlid; and the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Somalia, H.E. Abdulrahman Khalil Afandi, along with diplomats representing neighboring and friendly countries.
In the same context, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, received a delegation from the Government of the Republic of Djibouti at his residence in Las Anod, as part of their participation in the inauguration ceremony.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed the appreciation of the Somali government and people to the government and people of brotherly Djibouti, praising their historic support during Somalia’s struggle for independence and unity, as well as their continued efforts in promoting peace, state-building, and national development.
Members of the Djiboutian delegation congratulated the government and people of Somalia on their diplomatic achievements in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and unity. They reaffirmed the firm position of the Government of Djibouti in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The Djiboutian delegation to Las Anod includes the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, H.E. Mumin Hassan Barreh; the Minister of Communications, H.E. Ridwan Abdullahi Bahdon; the Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to Somalia; and several other senior officials.
The inauguration ceremony is also being attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, alongside other official and diplomatic delegations, underscoring broad support for Somalia’s unity, federal system, and ongoing state-building efforts.
