Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Salah Ahmed Jama, conducted an official visit to Mogadishu Port today. He was warmly received by the Minister of Ports and Marine Transport, Mr. Mahmoud Aden Geesood, State Minister of Ports and Marine Transport, Mr. Mohamed Abdulqadir Dhucle, and the Deputy Port Manager of Mogadishu Port, who is also the acting General Manager, Mr. Ali Haji Mohamed.
During the visit, the Minister of Ports and Marine Transport provided the Deputy Prime Minister with a detailed briefing on the ministry’s extensive efforts to serve the Somali people. He emphasized the ministry’s unwavering commitment to improving the port’s services and advancing its operational efficiency.
The Deputy Prime Minister commended the significant progress and ongoing initiatives at Mogadishu Port, spearheaded by the Ministry of Ports and Marine Transport. He highlighted the vital role the port plays in Somalia’s economic development and its contribution to the nation’s broader recovery goals.
