Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Minister of the Federal Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Abdihakim Ashkir, chaired the third annual meeting of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Steering Committee in Mogadishu for the second day.
In his remarks, Minister Ashkir commended the committee for the progress made over the past year and emphasized the need for continued joint efforts to overcome existing challenges. He highlighted the importance of finalizing the national digital civil registration system, noting that now is a critical time to expand civil registration services across the country.
The Deputy Minister also expressed his appreciation to the Federal Member States’ interior ministries, the Benadir Regional Administration, and international partners for their continued collaboration and support in strengthening Somalia’s civil registration systems.
