London, SONNA — grand welcome ceremony was held last night in London, the capital of the United Kingdom, for a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, H.E. Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adala, who is on an official working visit to the country.
Members of the Somali community residing in the UK gathered to receive the Deputy Minister, followed by a briefing session in which he outlined the general political, security, and humanitarian situation in Somalia.
During his address, Deputy Minister Al-Adala briefed the community on key national developments, including progress in state-building, recent measures taken to safeguard the unity of the country, and ongoing military operations that have led to the liberation of areas previously used as hideouts by Kharijites terrorist groups. He also highlighted government efforts to support communities affected by prolonged drought, as well as the rollout of the one-person, one-vote electoral process underway across the country.
The Deputy Minister further outlined major achievements and priorities of the Danqaran Government, emphasizing its commitment to peace, stability, democratic governance, and national unity.
Commending the Somali diaspora in the UK for their continued support, Minister Al-Adala urged the community to strengthen their role in assisting drought-affected populations and in defending Somalia’s unity and sovereignty. He also called on the community to stand together in rejecting actions that undermine Somalia’s unity and solidarity, stressing the importance of a unified national position during this critical period.
