MOGADISHU – The Somali Ministry of Defense held a high-level meeting to discuss and review the proposed budget for 2026. The meeting, which was chaired by the Minister of Defense, Ahmed Ma’allin Fiqi, brought together key leaders to plan the financial strategy for the Ministry and the Somali National Army (SNA).
Minister Fiqi presided over the discussions, which were attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense, the Permanent Secretary, General Directors, Ministry Advisors, and senior officials from the Somali National Army Command. The agenda focused on strategic plans for the upcoming year’s budget, aiming to ensure that the Ministry’s financial resources are aligned with its operational needs and national security objectives.
