Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, and the Special Envoy for Stabilisation and Civilian Protection, MP Omar Hashi, today held a joint meeting with the Director of the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC), Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim.
The discussions focused on advancing the Federal Government’s commitment to finalising the Civilian Protection Policy and its operational framework. The policy is a key step toward safeguarding civilians, strengthening accountability, and enhancing security operations while upholding human rights.
Once completed, the Civilian Protection Policy will serve as a guiding framework for security institutions, ensuring that civilian safety is fully integrated into policies, plans, and operations.
