Baghdad, (SONNA) – The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, held an official meeting with his Iraqi counterpart, H.E. Thabit Muhammad Al-Abbasi, during a visit to the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Baghdad.
The high-level meeting, attended by senior Iraqi military officials, focused on strengthening bilateral relations and accelerating cooperation in security, defence, military training, and the exchange of expertise between the two nations.
Minister Fiqi expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended by the Iraqi government, reaffirming Somalia’s commitment to building a long-term, strategic partnership grounded in mutual respect and brotherhood.
