Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, briefed the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers on the overall security situation in the country and the ongoing efforts to intensify operations against the terrorist groups.
The Minister highlighted the significant progress made by the Somali National Armed Forces across various regions, noting that the forces continue to demonstrate courage and determination in eliminating the remaining Al-Shabaab militants.
The Council of Ministers commended the recent successes achieved by the national forces in the ongoing campaign against the terrorists, efforts that form part of the Federal Government’s broader plan to restore stability and fully liberate areas still under militant control.
