Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, attended a luncheon hosted by Turkish Ambassador H.E. Alper Aktaş in honour of the crew of the Oruç Reis, the oil exploration vessel that successfully concluded its 234-day exploration mission off Somalia’s coast.
The Ministry sees this achievement as a symbol of the deep strategic partnership between Somalia and Türkiye, and a testament to the growing capacity of our security institutions.
“This is not just an economic milestone, it is a declaration of sovereignty and national strength,” said Minister Fiqi.
