Mogadishu, Somalia – In a focused session of the weekly Cabinet meeting, the Federal Government of Somalia, led by Acting Prime Minister Mr. Salah Jama, engaged in critical deliberations on a defense cooperation agreement with Kenya.

Top on the agenda was the presentation of a security report by the Ministers of Security and Defense, outlining the strategic organization and readiness for the second phase of the military campaign against the Kharijite Terrorists. The Cabinet’s commitment to eradicating the threat posed by these groups remains unwavering, as they continue to prioritize the safety and stability of the nation.

In a landmark development, the Cabinet reviewed a defense cooperation agreement between Somalia and Kenya. This agreement marks a pivotal step in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing the defense capabilities of both nations. The collaboration is expected to have a profound impact on peace and security in the region.

Additionally, the Cabinet examined the government’s policy on social media, as proposed by the Ministry of Education. This policy aims to regulate the use of social media platforms, ensuring they serve as tools for positive change and education, while safeguarding the interests of the Somali people.

The decisions made in this week’s Cabinet meeting are a testament to Somalia’s dedication to peace, security, and regional cooperation. As the government continues to implement these policies, the hope for a more secure and interconnected East Africa becomes ever more tangible.
