Bosaso, (SONNA) – The Federal Government of Somalia, in collaboration with the United States Africa Command (US AFRICOM), launched a planned operation in the Calmiskaad mountain area of Puntland’s Bari region. The strike was aimed at dismantling hideouts of ISIS militants, intensifying the ongoing fight against extremism in the region.
This operation underscores the commitment of both nations to eradicate the presence of Daesh militants (ISIS) in Somalia.
Casualty counts are currently being assessed, and a detailed report is anticipated once the operation’s evaluation is complete.
The Somali government and its American allies pledge to continue their intensified partnership in combating both ISIS and Al-Shabaab.
