Awdal intellectuals reject Ethiopia’s interference in Somalia

Mogadishu, (SONNA): – A group of leaders, cultural and social elders from various parts of Awdal region have expressed their strong opposition to the deal signed by Ethiopia and Muse Bixi, the self-proclaimed president of Somaliland. They accused Ethiopia of trying to undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia.

The intellectuals said that this is the time for the Somali people to unite and stand up for the unity and territorial independence of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

“Abiy Ahmed, you have made a grave mistake, because you lack the historical knowledge. You should know that Somalia and Ethiopia have been in conflict for centuries. The Somali people in Ras Kambooni, Ras Aseyr and Lowya Adde are calling for unity in the defence of the land and sea of Somalia. This is not a war, this is a tragedy. It is very sad to hear that the sea has been sold, the sea is not a commodity that can be bought or sold, no one can teach us that. The people of Awdal must rise up, you have an opportunity, the people who own the land and sea are strong, no one can take it from them. Ethiopia’s dream is nothing but an illusion.”

The Somali government has openly denounced the agreement of lies and greed of Abiy Ahmed, who wants to violate the independence and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The government has also received the support of the friends of Somalia to prevent Abiy and his allies from achieving their nefarious goals.
