Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Ambassador of Somalia to Tanzania, Amb. Ilyas Hassan Ali participated in the preparation of the Africa Energy Summit, which will be held in Dar-es-Salam on 27-28th of January and is expected to host more than 40 African leaders. The focus will be on accelerating access to sufficient energy across Africa.
Hosted by the Government of Tanzania, the summit also includes key participation from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank. This high-level gathering serves as a platform for governments, private sector leaders, development partners, and civil society to advance their shared objectives.
An ambitious goal known as Mission 300 aims to provide electricity to nearly 300 million people by 2030. This target was officially announced in April 2024 by the African Development Bank and the World Bank, underscoring a unified commitment to tackling Africa’s energy access challenges.
The summit offers a crucial opportunity to foster collaboration and strategize on achieving sustainable energy solutions for the continent, aligning with broader global development goals.
