Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army backed by the African Union Peacekeeping troops, especially Burundian contingent on Sunday arrested number of Al-Shabaab militants after conducting operation areas near Bal’ad town in middle Shabelle region, SONNA reported.
The operation was aimed at allowing free movement of transportation on the Main Supply Route linking Mogadishu to Jowhar towns.

The operation comes as the Al-Shabaab militants carried out deadly ambush attacks against civilian buses and armed vehicles using the road in week’s time.
