KIGALI, RWANDA (SONNA) – The African Land Forces Summit has officially concluded in Kigali, Rwanda. Somalia was represented at the conference by a delegation led by the Commander of the Somali Land Forces, Brigadier General Sahal Abdullahi Omar.
Participants at the summit agreed on the critical need to strengthen direct cooperation and military ties among African nations. A key outcome was the consensus to increase the exchange of expertise and best practices, particularly regarding the prevention of threats posed by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
Furthermore, attendees agreed to hold such meetings on a regular basis to consistently reinforce military and security cooperation across the continent. The summit served as an important platform for Somalia to deepen its engagement with regional partners on shared security challenges.
