Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Mogadishu Stadium came alive as thousands of fans filled the stands to witness a historic football match featuring some of Africa’s greatest football legends. The match was officially kicked off by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, marking a significant moment for Somali sports and symbolizing peace and unity through football.
The star-studded lineup included renowned names such as El Hadji Diouf (Senegal), Khalilou Fadiga (Senegal), Jay-Jay Okocha (Nigeria), Patrick Mboma (Cameroon), Geremi Njitap (Cameroon), and Mohamed Aboutrika (Egypt), among others. Their presence in Mogadishu sent a powerful message of solidarity and hope, as they thrilled the crowd with their skills and brought international attention to Somalia’s growing stability and love for the game.
