Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Acting President and the Speaker of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Sheikh Adan Mohamed Noor (Madoobe), convened a meeting in his office with a delegation of Somali businesspeople. The focus was on addressing the grievances of traders due to the recent closure of commercial markets in Mogadishu.
The Speaker assured the business community that the government does not support placing undue burdens on traders and is ready to address their complaints. He committed to reopening the closed markets soon.
The meeting was also attended by the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Trade, Industry, and Investment, MP Garad Mohamed Sheikh, and the Chairperson of the Defence Committee of the People’s House, MP Yusuf Geelle Ugaas.
This interaction highlights the government’s commitment to engaging with and supporting the local business sector amidst ongoing challenges in the capital city.
