Djibouti, (SONNA) – The President of the Republic of Djibouti, H.E. Ismail Omar Guelleh, has appointed a new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who will also serve as the Government Spokesperson.
According to Presidential Decree No. 2025-082 issued on April 1, 2025, Abdoulkader Houssein Omar replaces Mahamoud Ali Youssouf as the country’s top diplomat.
A career diplomat, Omar previously served as Djibouti’s Ambassador to Kuwait before his latest appointment.
The announcement was made on Tuesday morning at the Presidential Palace by the Secretary-General of the Government, Almis Mohamed Abdillahi.
