TUNIS (SONNA) — The Federal Republic of Somalia has formally expanded its diplomatic footprint in North Africa. Ambassador Yusuf Ahmed Hassan, who currently serves as Somalia’s envoy to Algeria, officially presented his credentials as the non-resident Ambassador to Tunisia today. The formal handover took place at the headquarters of the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the credentials were received by the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mohamed Ali Alnafti.
The reception ceremony was characterized by a highly cordial atmosphere, reflecting the enduring brotherly relations and mutual respect shared by the two nations. This diplomatic engagement represents a deliberate move by the Somali federal government to revitalize and strengthen its historical ties with the Maghreb region, facilitating broader geopolitical and economic integration.
