Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Chairperson of the National Independent Human Rights Commission, Dr. Maryam Qasim, today held a meeting with the Somalia Representative of UNICEF, Ms. Sandra Lattouf, to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the Commission and UNICEF.
The discussions focused on advancing and safeguarding children’s rights, as well as reinforcing national systems aimed at protecting and promoting child welfare.
Ms. Sandra Lattouf welcomed the meeting and expressed UNICEF’s readiness to support national institutions in strengthening child protection frameworks and enhancing accountability.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Maryam Qasim reaffirmed the Commission’s firm commitment to ensuring that the protection of children’s rights goes beyond policy and pledges, and is translated into tangible action.
