Baidoa, (SONNA) — The Commissioner of Somali Disaster Management Agency, Mr. Mahamud Moallim and his delegation arrived in Baidoa, the interim capital of South West State, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen drought response and support affected communities.
They were warmly received at Shaati Gaduud Airport by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs of South West State, Mr. Abdinasir Abdi Arush, along with cabinet members and parliamentarians.
The visit aims to enhance coordination with regional authorities, assess the humanitarian situation on the ground, and scale up assistance for communities impacted by drought.
SoDMA has already been implementing water trucking and humanitarian support programs in Baidoa, especially during Ramadan, to help ease the effects of drought and support vulnerable families.
