Belgrade, (SONNA) — The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, who is part of the Prime Minister’s delegation currently in Belgrade, today met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Serbia, H.E. Ivica Dačić, and the Director of the Security and Information Agency, H.E. Vladimir Orlić.
The discussions were held in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides expressing satisfaction at the meeting and emphasising that the visit provides fresh impetus to strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and Serbia.
Somalia and Serbia share decades of friendship and cooperation through the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as a mutual interest in advancing ties, particularly in the fields of internal affairs, security and defence.
The Minister of Defence also held a productive meeting with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Bratislav Gašić.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of security, defence, and the exchange of expertise. Both sides underlined the importance of advancing the historic relations and building a strategic partnership between Somalia and Serbia.
