Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The elite Gaashaan unit of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) carried out a planned operation in the Omar Beere area of Lower Shabelle region, killing five members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group. The operation also led to the destruction of key hideouts and positions the militants had established in the area.
NISA has intensified its counter-terrorism efforts across the country, with a renewed focus on dismantling Al-Shabaab cells and preventing attacks against the Somali people. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding national security and protecting civilians from extremist threats.
