Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in collaboration with international partners, conducted coordinated operations today in the Mabaax area of the Hiiraan region and the district of Aadan Yabaal in Middle Shabelle, resulting in significant casualties among Al-Shabaab militants and commanders.
The first operation, carried out in Mabaax, neutralized 13 Al-Shabaab fighters. It was launched following intelligence that foiled a planned terrorist attack by the group on the Ceel-Qooxle area in Hiiraan. During the operation, vehicles used by the militants and a facility where they treated their wounded were destroyed.
In a separate but related offensive later in the day, NISA forces targeted Aadan Yabaal, destroying two key Al-Shabaab facilities used for preparing combat vehicles and storing weapons.
The National Intelligence and Security Agency has intensified its targeted operations against enemy positions. All militants present at the targeted sites were eliminated, marking another major blow to Al-Shabaab’s operational capabilities.
