Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Emergency response teams from the Banadir Regional Administration and the Mogadishu Municipality swiftly responded to a major fire that broke out around 6:32 p.m. in the pharmaceutical section of Bakara Market, located in Howlwadaag District.
The fire, which started in a commercial building containing six medicine shops, was successfully contained before it could spread further. Firefighters managed to prevent the blaze from reaching four adjacent buildings, which house a total of 21 business units, including pharmacies, diagnostic centers, and electronics shops.
The operation involved 38 personnel from the Fire and Emergency Department, supported by officials from the Howlwadaag District administration and senior directors. Authorities praised the coordinated effort that limited property damage and prevented any casualties.
