Baku, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, for an official visit aimed at implementing the recent diplomatic cooperation agreement between the two nations.
President Mohamud expressed his gratitude to his counterpart, President Ilham Aliyev, and the Azerbaijani government for the warm welcome extended to his delegation and for the high regard given to enhancing the relationship between Somalia and Azerbaijan. This marks the first visit by a Somali president to Azerbaijan.
During his visit, Somalia and Azerbaijan are expected to sign significant agreements to strengthen bilateral ties. The President’s delegation will also hold meetings with their Azerbaijani counterparts.
President Hassan Sheikh’s visit underscores the Somali government’s commitment to expanding international cooperation and promoting economic and security development, benefiting both the Somali and Azerbaijani peoples.
