Cairo (SONNA): Officials from the Somali Immigration and Citizenship Agency have successfully completed an intensive training program in Cairo, Egypt. Organized jointly by the governments of Egypt and Italy, the program focused on control, border protection, document examination, and the prevention of human trafficking. The training saw participation from immigration officials representing 17 African countries.
The Somali officials were equipped with advanced techniques for protecting borders, identifying counterfeit documents, and implementing measures to combat human trafficking. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Somali Immigration and Nationality Agency to enhance the knowledge and skills of its officers across various offices.
By improving the capacity of its personnel, the agency aims to ensure the integrity and security of Somalia’s borders while providing efficient and secure services to the public. The training underscores Somalia’s commitment to strengthening its immigration processes and collaborating with international partners to address global security challenges.
