Mogadishu, (SONNA) — Following the virtual opening session led by H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud last Thursday, the second round of dialogue between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Forum for National Parties resumed today in Mogadishu.
The meeting brought together President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, members of the Federal Government’s designated negotiation committee, and senior representatives of the Forum, led by former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed. Discussions were held in a constructive and cooperative spirit, with both sides engaging deeply on national priorities.
After comprehensive deliberations, both parties agreed to reconvene on July 20, 2025, to continue the dialogue and further advance the progress made.
This ongoing consultation process underscores the shared commitment to inclusive political dialogue, national reconciliation, and consensus-driven solutions in Somalia’s democratic state-building journey.
