Harare (SONNA) – The Chief Justice of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Baashe Yusuf Ahmed, participated in the 7th Conference of African Constitutional Courts held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. This biennial conference focuses on the theme “The Judiciary for the Protection of Human Rights and Dignity in Africa.”
Delegates from over 44 African countries attended the conference, along with observers from Russia, Iraq, and Turkey, as well as representatives from the African Union and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
The three-day conference featured an important speech by Mr. Baashe Yusuf Ahmed on the role of the judiciary in safeguarding human rights and dignity in Africa. The gathering serves as a platform for judicial leaders to exchange ideas and strategies to enhance the protection of human rights across the continent.
