Mogadishu, Somalia — In a ceremony held at the Training School of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Sulub Ahmed Firin, Commander of the Somali Police Force, presided over the passing-out parade of 70 newly trained officers. These officers will play a crucial role in the special protocol section of the Somali Police Music Band.

The event, attended by high-ranking officials including Deputy Commander Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi Mohamed (Kaniif), marked a significant milestone for the force. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the rhythmic beat of drums echoed across the parade ground, symbolizing the commitment and dedication of these fresh recruits.

The passing-out parade is a time-honored tradition—a moment when new officers transition from rigorous training to active duty. For these 70 graduates, it signifies not only the end of their training but also the beginning of their service to the nation.

Brigadier General Sulub Ahmed Firin addressed the assembled officers, emphasizing the importance of discipline, integrity, and community engagement. “You are the guardians of peace,” he declared, his voice carrying over the neatly aligned ranks. “Your duty extends beyond enforcing the law; it encompasses building trust with the communities you serve.”

The newly minted officers will join the special protocol section of the Somali Police Music Band. This elite unit combines law enforcement with cultural diplomacy, using music as a bridge to connect with citizens. Whether performing at official state functions or engaging with local communities, these officers will showcase the harmony of security and culture.

Deputy Commander Brigadier General Abdullahi Mohamed praised the graduates for their commitment. “Your role is unique,” he said. “You will be ambassadors of goodwill, using your musical talents to foster understanding and unity.”
