Somali Defense Minister Bids Farewell to UN Special Envoy

Mogadishu, Somalia – In a solemn yet cordial meeting held in the capital city of Mogadishu, the Minister of Defense of the Somali Armed Forces, Mr. Abdulkadir Mohamed Noor, bid farewell to the outgoing United Nations Special Envoy, Mrs. Catriona Laing.

The gathering, marked by expressions of mutual respect and gratitude, served as an opportunity for Minister Noor to extend his heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Laing for her significant contributions to the peace process in Somalia. Mrs. Laing’s tenure was characterized by her unwavering commitment to fostering stability and cooperation within the region.

Reflecting on the progress made, the Minister’s delegation emphasized the Federal Government of Somalia’s dedication to realizing its vision for a stable and secure nation. The meeting underscored the enduring partnership between Somalia and the United Nations, and the shared aspirations for a future marked by peace and prosperity for all Somalis.
