Beledweyn, (SONNA) – A joint airstrike operation by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and the Somali National Army (SNA) resulted in the deaths of 48 Al-Shabaab leaders and militants. The operation targeted several locations, including Daarul-Nimca and Al-Kowthar in Middle Shabelle, as well as Beerayabaal in Hiiraan.
In the first operation in Daarul-Nimca, which consisted of two separate airstrikes, 17 Al-Shabaab leaders and militants were killed, and their combat vehicles were destroyed.
The second operation took place in Al-Kowthar, also in Middle Shabelle, where similar tactics were employed. Two airstrikes resulted in the deaths of 19 militants and the destruction of their vehicles.
In the third operation, Al-Shabaab suffered heavy losses in Beerayabaal, Hiiraan. The airstrike killed 12 militants.
The joint efforts by NISA and the SNA aim to eradicate the remaining elements of Al-Shabaab terrorists. These operations will continue until the threat is eliminated.
