Mogadishu (SONNA) – The Speaker of the House of the People of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madobe), has officially announced the closure of the fifth session of the House of the People.
In a statement issued by the Speaker, it was confirmed that the fifth session, in accordance with the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the House of the People, will close on December 6, 2024. The sixth session is scheduled to reopen on February 6, 2025.
Speaker Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur expressed his gratitude to the members of parliament for their honorable performance and dedication during the fifth session. He extended his best wishes for peace and health to all members during the break.
The closure of the fifth session marks a significant moment in the legislative calendar, as the House of the People prepares to reconvene in the new year to continue its important work for the nation.
