Addis Ababa, (SONNA) – The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Honorable Ahmed Madobe Nuunow, accompanied by the Special Envoy of the President of Somalia for Humanitarian Affairs, Abdiraxmaan Abdishakuur Warsame, yesterday participated in a ministerial-level meeting in Addis Ababa on food security in the Horn of Africa.
This meeting, which was organized by the African Union Agriculture Committee and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), focused on the following three key points, which are of particular importance for the development of agriculture to achieve food security
- The strategic importance of investment to achieve food security.
- Creation of a joint action plan for urgent humanitarian and resilience-based programs to curb widespread hunger and malnutrition in the region.
- Mobilizing strategic and financial support to enhance food security solutions for the future of the Horn of Africa.
