Mogadishu (SONNA) – Somalia’s Dekadaha FC will face Sudan’s Alzamala Sports Club in the CAF competition on Sunday, 21 September 2025, at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, with kick-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
Ahead of the team’s departure, the General Director of Mogadishu Port, Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur “Ameriko,” hosted a farewell ceremony for the players and management. He urged the squad to represent the name and flag of Somalia with honour, stressing that any victory would be a symbol of national pride and reputation.
“Dekadaha FC carries the name of the nation, and we are committed to supporting any team that elevates Somalia’s image,” said Ambassador Ameriko, who previously served as Somalia’s ambassador to Kenya.
He recalled his past experiences in Nairobi when Somalia’s national team played there, highlighting how the Somali community filled the stadiums. He noted that even Kenyan newspapers reported at the time that the atmosphere in the stands felt “just like Mogadishu.”
