Mogadishu, SONNA – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Ma’alin Fiqi, warmly received his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdulcadi, during an official visit to Mogadishu today.
At a press conference, Minister Fiqi emphasized the importance of this bilateral engagement, emphasizing that the newly launched direct flights between the two nations would bolster economic and commercial ties. These flights are expected to facilitate smoother exchanges and enhance cooperation across various sectors.
Egypt’s steadfast support for Somalia’s sovereignty was also highlighted. Minister Fiqi praised Egypt’s role in standing against any actions that could compromise Somalia’s independence. Notably, Egypt has reaffirmed its stance against Ethiopia’s violations, Egypt has consistently voiced its support for Somalia’s sovereignty on various forums and occasions. Their commitment to preventing any actions that undermine Somalia’s independence is commendable.
The inaugural Egypt Air flight represents a significant milestone in fostering economic collaboration between the two brotherly countries. As Somalia and Egypt continue to strengthen their partnership, their shared goals pave the way for a brighter future.
