Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Ramla Said Ahmed Ali, known professionally as Ramla Ali, the first Somali woman to win an international gold medal in boxing and achieve a series of victories, arrived today in Mogadishu.
She was received at Aden Adde International Airport by Federal Government officials and members of the public.
Minister of Family Affairs and Human Rights, Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, praised her achievements, saying: “Ramla Ali has carried our national flag on the global stage, and we are proud to welcome her home today.”
Deputy Governor of Banadir for Social Affairs, Abdiaziz Osman, added: “Ramla Ali has shown that Somali women are resilient and capable of excelling on international platforms.”
Speaking to the media, Ramla Ali thanked the Somali people and those who organized her reception, expressing joy at sharing her success with the nation.
