Dar es Salam, (SONNA) — Somalia and Tanzania are on the verge of launching direct flights between Mogadishu and Dar es Salaam, anticipated to begin within the coming weeks following key bilateral discussions held in Dar es Salaam.
Tanzania’s national carrier, Air Tanzania, is expected to operate on this new route.
The Somali delegation was headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, while his Tanzanian counterpart, H.E. Mohamud Thabit Kombo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, represented Tanzania.
Additionally, the two countries agreed to renew their Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA), which was originally signed in 1975.
