(SONNA – Mogadishu) – The Somalia Security Conference held on December 12 2023 at the United Nations Headquarters, in New York was a gathering for security and sovereignty. Led by President H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia this landmark event saw the participation of 28 countries, including powers like the African Union, European Union, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United Nations and the United States of America. It showcased a commitment to ensuring stability and security in Somalia.

The participating partners reaffirmed their support for Somalia’s independence and unity while acknowledging the progress made by the country over the year. They commended the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) for its approach in outlining its vision for security sector development.
