Geneva (SONNA) — The Minister of Health and Human Services of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Ali Haji Adam Abubakar, along with a delegation he is leading, attended the opening of the 158th Session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO), which officially commenced in Geneva, Switzerland.
The annual meeting serves as a key global platform for setting direction, adopting decisions, and shaping policies that guide the international health system. Somalia is among the 34 member states of the WHO Executive Board, underscoring the country’s role and voice in global health decision-making.
The participation of the minister and his delegation highlights the Federal Republic of Somalia’s active engagement in leadership, cooperation, and advancement of global health systems, while prioritizing the health needs and interests of the Somali people.
