DJIBOUTI (SONNA) – A five-day consultative workshop between the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia and the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Culture, and Endowments of the Republic of Djibouti concluded today, Thursday.
The primary objective of the meetings was to strengthen cooperation between the two ministries and exchange expertise regarding endowments administration and Zakat (alms) collection and registration.
On the final day, the Somali delegation, led by the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Mukhtar Robow, joined his counterpart, the Djiboutian Minister of Religious Affairs, Mumin Hassan Barre, on a visit to several sites.
The dignitaries visited the Al Wasatiya Institute for the dissemination of a culture of peace, where intensive education is underway. The Director General of Somalia’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ibrahim Adan Ibrahim Nadara, thanked the Djiboutian government for the warm reception. He highlighted that the Al Wasatiya Institute in Djibouti is a crucial regional center dedicated to promoting peace in the region, a mission particularly relevant to Somalia, which continues to face extremist ideologies.
