Somalia Convenes National Consultative Meeting of Youth and Sports Federal Ministers

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Mohamed Abdulqadir Ali, today chaired a National Consultative Meeting bringing together youth and sports ministers from the Federal Government, Federal Member States, and the Benadir Regional Administration. Hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the meeting discussed key national priorities, including:

• The National Transformation Plan (2025–2029) – Social Development and Human Capital pillar;
• Youth participation in community engagement and the upcoming general elections;
• The National Youth Policy (2023–2030);
• Progress updates on the National Youth, Peace and Security Action Plan (YPS NAP) and developments in the sports sector.

This important consultation aims to strengthen collaboration between the Federal Government and Federal Member States to ensure Somali youth remain central to national development, peacebuilding, and democratic processes, including elections.
