Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Somalia, a founding member of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), celebrates Africa Day on May 25. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, sponsored by IBS Bank, is organizing the event, which will be attended by ambassadors from various African countries accredited to the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Africa Day honors the unity and progress of the African continent. The African Union (AU), a 55-member continental body, was established in 2002 as the successor to the OAU, which existed from 1963 to 1999.
