ANKARA, Turkey – The Minister of Ports and Marine Transport of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, held a high-level strategic meeting today in Ankara with the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, H.E. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
The bilateral talks focused on deepening the cooperation between the two nations within the maritime sector, with a specific emphasis on upgrading port infrastructure and advancing strategic marine services.
During the session, the ministers engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding maritime security, the modernization of Somalia’s ports, and the facilitation of technology transfer. The primary objective of this dialogue was to ensure that Somalia’s maritime services are fully aligned with modern commercial demands and capable of supporting regional economic connectivity.
Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur expressed his gratitude to Minister Uraloğlu for the warm reception in Ankara. He highlighted that the robust partnership between Somalia and Turkey is a critical factor in fostering stability, development, and the continued growth of Somalia’s blue economy and maritime operations.
