Mogadishu, SONNA – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hamza Abdi Barre, today held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Somalia, His Excellency Abdelrahman Khalil Ahmed Afandi, to discuss ways to enhance the long-standing relations between the two nations.
During the meeting, both sides explored new opportunities for cooperation in various fields, reaffirming the strong historical and diplomatic ties that unite Somalia and Sudan.
Ambassador Abdelrahman expressed gratitude to the Somali government and people for their unwavering support during Sudan’s challenging times. He reiterated Sudan’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations and strengthening partnerships between the two countries.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre acknowledged Sudan’s vital role in educating Somali youth, particularly during Somalia’s difficult periods, and expressed appreciation for the longstanding brotherly relations. He reaffirmed Somalia’s solidarity with Sudan and commended the efforts to restore peace, stability, and national unity in the country.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of both nations to fostering closer cooperation and supporting each other in areas of mutual interest.
