Doha, Qatar –SONNA – A delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia, led by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, MP Yusuf Mohamed Aden, currently visiting Doha, has held fruitful meetings with Qatari government officials, culminating in an agreement focused on creating significant employment opportunities for Somali youth.

The Somali delegation engaged primarily with officials from Qatar’s Ministry of Labor. Discussions between a dedicated bilateral committee from both nations centered specifically on the employment system and the implementation of a previously signed employment agreement between Somalia and Qatar.

A key outcome of the meetings is a project aimed at employing more than 10,000 young Somalis in Qatar. This initiative is intended to benefit both skilled and unskilled youth, providing them with valuable work experience and sustainable livelihoods.

Somalia’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reiterated its commitment to actively seeking job opportunities abroad as a means to ensure a stable life and promising future for the country’s youth. The agreement with Qatar represents a significant step towards achieving this goal.
