Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Somali Strategic Communication Forum which officially opened Saturday, still continues by focusing on unifying messages of government institutions and significance of disseminating an accurate news to the public as well as public awareness.
Ministers of Defense, Family and Human Rights Development, Communication and Technology, Planning, Investment and Economic Development, Agriculture and other international stakeholders from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia, United Nations Transition Mission in Somalia joined the forum.
Chief of Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Group for UNTMIS, Ari Gaitanis said that the United Nations and the Somali Federal Government was honored to be here for the major event, regarding to the Somali Strategic Communication Forum, saying the United Nations Supports all Somali partners across range of areas, health to famine, education, development and many areas.
“Somali Strategic Communication Forum is also very important area for us, United Nations, we fully beleive and agree with the government with the importance to review and access effective strategies to disseminating government information, enhancing public awareness and encouraging engagement”, Gaitanis said while speaking at forum.
Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia and Head of the African Union Transition Mission, Souef Mohamed El-Amine commended government efforts to strengthen public awaress.
