Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Commander of the Somali Police Force, Major General Asad Osman Abdullahi, hosted Faisal Shahkar, the United Nations Police Chief, along with a delegation from the UN Secretary-General’s office at police headquarters in Mogadishu.
During the meeting, discussions focused on Somalia’s potential contribution to UN peacekeeping missions, rebuilding the capacity of the Somali Police Force at both national and federal state levels, and strengthening collaboration between the Somali Police and the United Nations. Key priorities included combating extremist groups, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring Somali police officers receive advanced training and modern equipment to enhance their effectiveness.
This meeting underscores the growing partnership between Somalia and the United Nations in advancing peace and security initiatives.
